Overview
Blind Squirrel Games is a digital agency for games that help clients reach deadlines by expediting feature development, animation and digital content creation. During my time at BSG I was lucky enough to work 3 AAA titles: God of War, WWE 2k18 and Mafia 3.
Approach
Since most of the work was fixing assets for clients I created batch processing tools to automate that process while shifting my efforts on creating new cinematic assets for the multiple games I was assigned to.
I had to make sure my assets could meet the standards of our clients while also being optimized to port to multiple platforms. I also researching (at the time) new DCC tools to expedite our workflows.
Mafia 3: Sinclair Parish DLC
Created batch scripts to automate the process of projecting decals on to vehicles produce texture sheets for each model type.
Made vehicle attachments by reusing in game assets and modifying existing UVs.
Modeled multiple destructible environment assets in the Sinclair Parish DLC map and fixed environment models for the main game that were outsource from another studio.
WWE 2k18: Switch Port
Made python scripts to import source environment models into Maya for asset validation and preparation to Unreal.
Made R&D docs on which form of optimization would work best for making low poly versions of the wrestlers without losing detail or animation data.
God of War: Pixel Pusher
I was called on to aid the team in charge of environments for God of War to assist in randomizing and correcting environment assets.
